Spartan Code

A private, on-device reflective journal for iOS — built for veterans and anyone who carries a high-stress operational past, and wants a disciplined place to think.

Rated 17+

Built to stay yours

Spartan Code is a reflective journal that runs entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics — what you write stays with you. It pairs a simple writing practice with reflection lenses and archetypes drawn from military service and the work of putting hard experience into words.

Optional one-time in-app purchases unlock companion book editions — including SPARTAN CODE: RED and the full Spartan Handbook — that add chapters, lenses, and authored reflections to the journal.

On-device & private

Entries, photos, and passcode stay on your iPhone. Nothing is transmitted to any server.

App Lock

Optional Face ID / Touch ID and passcode protection, stored in the iOS Keychain.

Reflection lenses

Prompts and archetypes that turn raw experience into something you can return to.

Companion books

Unlock authored editions as one-time in-app purchases — no subscriptions.

PUB 4DAT — a tool in progress

PUB 4DAT is the Author Operations Center: the system the author built to run his own books and publishing work, now shared with other independent authors and small publishers. It keeps every title, edition, deadline, and sales channel in one operational source of truth on your device.

Status: in progress. It is a working tool, not a finished product. Features change between releases, some workflows are still rough, and feedback from working authors shapes what comes next. It is free on the App Store.

About the author

Spartan Code grows out of a memoir project by its author, writing as Frank Castle. To read about the author, follow the books, or join the reader mailing list, visit the author site.
